Light Leaked

Sophie Barbasch
http://www.lightleaked.com/

Last but certainly not least, Light leaked. Boom went the dynamite with this site. As soon as it came up, articles on photography, cool photography, popped up. The site is very simple but obviously kept up and maintained. It was a good one to end on because it offers a variety of styles and the articles are well written.
Barbasch's work is amazing and by far my favorite. Her content is so moving and it seems to me that every piece has a life long story within. I fell speechless gazing upon her work honestly. Light Leaked did a great job with her article and placement of art.

BOOOOOOOM

Still unable to upload but anyways, BOOOOM is very busy and not easy for me to navigate. Took forever to find actual articles on actual photographers but the design is aesthetically plessing. When i did find the photographers, i was amazed. Some of the coolest things, like Kimyonghun's stuff, that i had never seen before.Using facial recognition software to overlay all the characters from a movie.....mind absolutely blown.

Ticka Arts

Unsure of why I can't upload photos but I picked the one in the article was of a young girl playing in water almost completely submerged but for her head. The link can show you the picture. Ticka Arts is a GREAT site and was very easy to manage. I was able to immediately find a good article that was well written and was about an up and coming artist that I am now a fan of.
Myra's other pieces have depth and emotion, causing to actually tear up a bit. Her style is unique and breathtaking and very sad yet optimistic.

RECAP: DEC 5

Fotofest Houston

We are now down to the wire! Please use your time wisely.

Our FINAL PORTFOLIO is due this upcoming week. Our Final is scheduled for Wednesday DEC 10 at 9 am. Please be on time. To prepare for Critique, please have the following:

  • 10, 8x10" properly exposed *ink jet prints. One must be in an 11x14" or 16x20" mat board
    • * if you do not think you will be able to get the project done in time with inkjet prints at school, please do not take the zero! Have it out-sourced printed at Costco or Walgreens (instructions under the Lectures / Demos tab). You will lose points, but not as many as not turning in anything! Same thing with mat boards. Better to turn in something, than to take the zero and fail the class.
  • a printed, double-spaced ARTIST STATEMENT with your name on it

  • Please have your digitals images (JPEGS) turned in on the dropbox link I sent you. (FINAL PORTFOLIO).

  • All Extra Credit, as well as any late or missing workis also due this day.

  • Because this will be our final meeting day, feel free to bring snacks or drinks if you would like. We will also take a class photo!

Thank you all for a great semester and see you Wednesday!
