Review: Light Leaked

Garth Amundson & Pierre Gour

Garth Amundson & Pierre Gour
The design of the blog very sophisticated with a black background and white foreground. This look makes it seem very easy to navigate and read. The font of the blog is normal and not old English font. The articles submitted look professionally made and not simply amateurs’ photographers. The article that I am reading is based in the work of Garth and Pierre. The photo displayed is of a man showing the complexities of self-identities between what society expects and what they identify themselves as. The way the photo represented shows the holistic approach as to what this person has to face and makes him. I found it intriguing because the way the photographer joins and is able to express the complexities of gay and lesbian identity is quite interesting.

The design of the blog seems to be juvenile and aims to display different artistic styles. It is easy to follow by providing a category section at top of blog to choose category of preference. The font of the blog seems to be small and look very professional and old style. It is hard to follow as the reader goes down the blog due to presence of ads that cause confusion.  The article from which the image was gathered is quite interesting. It is about a photographer that attended a gallery exhibition and during the visit her wallet was stolen. Soon to know her identity was stolen. Rather than calling the police and getting her arrested she hired a private detect and made it her project to follow her to take pictures. Soon those photos where part of her exhibition titled “Dear Erin Hart”. What was compelling about this article was the idea or concept of following her identity thief and making something negative to learning experience. Love the article and truly original.
